Please join us for Emmanuel Letouzé’s presentation and discussion how Data-Pop Alliance and its partners are using Big Data to promote inclusive and sustainable development in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Turkey, Lebanon, and Senegal.  Data Pop Alliance founding members include the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, MIT Connection Science and London’s ODI and later Sweden’s Flowminder Foundation                   Data-Pop Alliance partners & projects include  Colombia’s Big Data Strategy and OPAL (Open Algorithms for better decisions) Project. Professor Frank Hsu (Computer Science) Erick Rengifo (CIPS) Dr. Marcelo LaFleur (UN DESA) and Prof. Alfredo Cuecuecha (UPAEP Puebla Mexico) will open the discussion following the presentation.

Projects: Using Data to Shed Light on the Shadow Pandemic of Domestic Violence in MexicoSummary by Ivette Yáñez Soria, Marie-Helen Cymorek, Valentin Kruspel, Zinnya del Villar #Data4good & @GIZ_Data_Lab see “Mundos Paralelos [Parallel Worlds]” Big Data and Inequality in Mexico City by Oxfam México and Data-Pop Alliance analyzes inequality among the inhabitants of Mexico City from an spatial perspective, using human mobility data provided by Cuebiq’s Data for Good program. (see cover below) *GIZ is a German development agency)

Data-Pop Alliance is also fighting the Pandemic with the Global South COVID Recovery Plan  and C-19 Global South Observatory).  DPA’s partners include the Inter-American Development Bank, UNDP, UN ESCWA, GIZ*, the Vodafone Institute, Oxfam México and many other international stakeholders. Its projects are underway in Africa and MENA, LatAm & Caribbean and in Asia.
